Celebrate Harmony Week in the Classroom with an engaging, creative, and meaningful activity that students of all ages can enjoy! Every year during Harmony Week, my school groups students from different year levels into buddy pairs to explore cultural activities and themes. However, finding activities that cater to students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 has always been a challenge—until now!

Let me share with you my absolute favourite Harmony Week classroom activity—one that the kids will love too! Not only does it create a fantastic classroom display, but it also serves as a wonderful keepsake for the students to take home.

Harmony Week Classroom Display: A Fun and Meaningful Activity for All Ages

Step 1 – Start Your Harmony Week Craft Activity

To start, let your students dive right into the fun by selecting three circle designs from our resource. They can choose from writing circles, colouring circles, or Harmony Day/Week-themed circles. This way, every student can find something that resonates with them, allowing for self-expression and creativity.

Once the choices are made, students can get started! They can write their Harmony Day message, add their favourite colours, and carefully cut out their chosen circles. This is a simple yet impactful way to reflect on the significance of Harmony Week while encouraging artistic expression.

Step 2 – Assemble Your Harmony Week Mobile Display

Now that the circles are ready, it’s time to bring the project to life! Have students tape a piece of string along one of the folds of their first circle, ensuring it’s securely attached. Then, using glue, they can carefully attach half of the other two circles onto the first one. As they complete this step, students will be amazed as their mobile begins to take shape. It’s a wonderful hands-on activity that builds excitement and teamwork.

Step 3 – Showcase Your Harmony Week Classroom Creations

Finally, the best part—showcasing your students’ creations! Hang the beautiful Harmony Day mobiles around the classroom, transforming your space into a colourful display of diversity and unity. As students admire their handiwork and read the messages shared, they’ll gain a deeper understanding of the importance of harmony and inclusivity.
